The team.

We believe God has gifted some to serve as evangelists—what we might describe today as church planters—who help blaze the trail, establish new works, and lay a foundation for a local church. We also believe God gives pastors and teachers who faithfully serve in the long-term ministry of shepherding the church and equipping the saints. Throughout Scripture, we also see a pattern of believers being sent out together, often two by two, for the work of the gospel.

With that model in mind, Heston Blake and his wife, Rebekah, will, Lord willing, partner with Alex and Leah Millan in this new church plant. Heston will help blaze the trail—being on site, preparing the way, building relationships, helping establish the ministry, and working alongside Alex as the church takes root.

From the beginning, the goal will be for Alex to become the church’s long-term pastor. As the church becomes established and Alex is prepared to lead it forward, Heston will transition out, freeing him to come alongside another church planter and help begin the process again.

In this way, the vision is not simply to plant a church, but to develop a reproducible pattern of partnership: go together, blaze the trail, establish the church, strengthen the pastor, and then go again.
